Tipping on a cruise:
Room Steward - $3.50 per guest, per day
Waiter/Waitress - $3.50 per guest, per day
Assistant waiter - $2.00 per guest, per day
For your convenience, you may also prepay your gratuities for all
personnel for a total of about $10.00 per guest per day.
Cruise Clothing:
Casual attire is in order during the day. For one or two nights, a
dark suit or formal attire is suggested. The dress code for other
evenings ranges from sport coat and tie to casual resort wear.
Shorts and t-shirts are usually not permitted in the formal dining
rooms. For Alaska or Canada cruises, sweaters, lightweight
jackets, and rain jackets are also suggested.
Kid friendly:
Most major cruise lines now offer special supervised programs for the
special guests under 18 years of age. Check with your travel agent or
your ships Activities Coordinator for more details.
Special Diets:
Special diet restrictions should be requested through your travel agent
at least two weeks prior to sailing. You should also discuss the
method of preparation of menu items with your waiter or
headwaiter. There may be limitations in their ability to
accomodate special orders (such as Kosher meals).
Sun Care:
The colorful Caribbean Islands, lush European shores, and tropic beaches
of Mexico have some of the world's best weather year-round. That's why
you'll want to pack a stylish head-topper, snazzy sunglasses, and plenty
of your favorite sunscreen to stay happy and healthy for your voyage. |
